Fraud/Scams, Consumer Warnings and Training

Gift cards are frequently targeted by scammers. Do not purchase a Gift Card unless you’re buying it as a gift or for your own use—never buy one to make a payment at someone else’s direction. For more about gift card fraud, visit stopgiftcardscams.com.

Tampering is also a risk. Fraudsters can remove cards from retail displays, steal the card numbers and PIN, reseal the packaging, and return the card to the rack—then drain the balance once it’s activated. Before purchasing, inspect the card and its packaging carefully. If anything looks removed, ripped, damaged, or tampered with, don’t buy it.

As a part of our consumer fraud prevention program, Card Issuer asks that consumers take a moment to review Card Issuer’s fraud notices prior to purchase. You do not want to be caught in a fraud scam. To the extent permitted by law, the Card Issuer is not responsible for third-party fraud or unauthorized conduct related to any Gift Card.
