Tips On Card Use (FAQs)
Your Phillips 66® Gift Card should provide an enjoyable shopping experience at participating Phillips 66®, Conoco® and 76® locations. Use of your Gift Gard will be facilitated by the following Tips On Card Use which are designed to address Frequently Asked Questions. Click on the title to reveal the tip.
Remember that your Gift Card is issued by the Card Issuer. For information about the Card Issuer, see Card Issuer.
Remember that your Gift Card is subject to terms and conditions that govern its use (the "Card Terms"). For the complete set of terms and conditions, see Full Gift Card Terms.
Remember that your Card Agreement has a Change of Terms provision. That means the Card Issuer reserves the right to modify the Card Terms at any time in its discretion for the limited purposes of (a) describing any modifications, (b) describing courses of action in the event the Gift Card Program is terminated, (c) clarifying existing terms and conditions, or (d) addressing changes in information such as links. Changes to Card Terms will be published by Issuer on the Cardholder Notices page of this website and will be maintained on the Cardholder Notices for at least ninety (90) calendar days after publication. The most current version of the complete Card Terms will be available at the Full Gift Card Terms page of this website.
Remember that the Card Issuer may, from time to time, publish notices to Cardholders, (or otherwise provide information to Cardholders) about your Gift Card or its use. Such notices and information will be published at the Cardholder Notices page of this website.
You have the ability to download the terms and conditions that govern your Gift Card. This button is located at the bottom of the Full Gift Card Terms page. When you click on that button you have the ability to save the Terms as a PDF or print them.
Remember that your Gift Card is a limited-value and limited-use stored value card. It is not a credit card, a debit card, an asset account, a deposit account, a bank issued card, a bank account, or a card linked to a bank account. The funds used to purchase the Gift Card will not be segregated or kept in a fund pending use of the Gift Card.
Remember that the Gift Cards are available for purchase by consumers in two forms. The first form is a standard physical gift card that has a unique number. The second form is a digital code with the card being a virtual card (also known as an E-card).
Remember that you must safeguard your Gift Card. Your Gift Card will not be replaced or replenished if it is lost, stolen or damaged. In that regard, you should safeguard the Gift Card in the same manner that you do cash.
Remember that you must safeguard and keep secure your Gift Card and protect others from gaining access to the Gift Card or the numbers on the Gift Card. Your Gift Card will not be replaced or replenished if the Gift Card or its unique numbers are used without authorization. In that regard, you should safeguard the card in the same manner that you do cash.
Remember that, as specified in the Card Terms, the Card Issuer and Phillips 66 reserve the right to assert all available remedies in the event of suspected abuse or fraud. Such remedies include, without limitation, the blocking or freezing by the Card Issuer of a Gift Card from use or refusal by the Card Issuer to honor a Gift Card. For specifics regarding the rights of the Card Issuer or Phillips 66 in the event of suspected abuse or fraud, see the Card Terms at the Full Terms and Conditions page of this website or click here.
Physical and digital Gift Cards may be purchased online at https://phillips66.ourgiftcards.com/. Physical Gift Cards may also be purchased at participating Phillips 66®, Conoco® and 76® locations.
Remember that your Gift Card is a variable denomination card. That means it is available for purchase by consumers for any amount between $5 and up to $500. Purchases above the limit of $500 are prohibited.
Remember that the Gift Cards are issued in and purchasable only for United States Dollars (USD$).
Remember that, once a gift card is purchased, it will not be refundable, returnable, or redeemable for cash, except as required by state law. With respect to redemptions required by state law, see the tip below on Cash Redemptions.
Remember that your Gift Card is a reloadable Gift Card. As a result, your Gift Card may be reloaded from time to time. Remember that a physical Gift Card will be deactivated if it has no activity for three hundred sixty-five (365) days after zero balance. A Fuel Forward® App or digital Gift Card will be deactivated if it has no activity for sixty (60) days after zero balance.
Remember that your Gift Card is a limited use card. That means your Gift Card is usable or redeemable only to buy goods or services, and only from the merchant specified on the Gift Cards. Additional limitations on your use of the Gift Card may apply. See the tips on use below regarding Participating Redeeming Merchants or Limitations on Use and Eligible Purchases.
Remember that your Gift Card is usable or redeemable to purchase goods and/or services only at participating Phillips 66®, Conoco® and 76® locations and/or on acceptable devices via the Fuel Forward® App. Your Gift Card is not redeemable at any other merchant. For information on Phillips 66 and its locations, visit Phillips66.com.
Remember that your Gift Card is limited to use at participating Phillips 66®, Conoco® and 76® locations and/or on acceptable devices via the Fuel Forward® App. You cannot use the Gift Card to purchase other Gift Cards, including other Phillips 66 Gift Cards. The Gift Card is not redeemable for cash unless required by law; see the tip on Cash Redemptions.
Remember that you are not required to redeem or transfer your physical Gift Card into the Fuel Forward® App. You are, however, required to redeem or transfer your digital Gift Card into the Fuel Forward® App, which is only available on acceptable devices. For details regarding the Fuel Forward® App, see the Card Terms at the Full Terms and Conditions page of this website.
Remember that your Gift Card is redeemable only to purchase goods and/or services. Therefore, unless otherwise required by law, your Gift Card is not redeemable for cash even if your Gift Card has a small remaining balance. A limited number of U.S. States and Territories have enacted statutes that require Gift Cards to be redeemable for cash in certain limited circumstances that are set forth in the statutes. For inquiries or additional information, see Contact Us.
Remember that your Gift Card is usable to make "card not present" purchases. That means you may use the card to make purchases via the Fuel Forward® App.
You should keep track of the Gift Card balance. For information on how to make balance inquiries, see Balance Inquiry.
Remember that the initial available balance on your Gift Card will be an amount set at the time of activation and/or purchase. Thereafter, the available balance will be reduced by each authorized use of the Gift Card or as otherwise provided in the terms and conditions except as prohibited by law.
Remember that if you use your Gift Card balance to make a purchase for less than the available balance of the Gift Card, the remaining balance will not be paid in cash to you, unless a cash payment is otherwise required by law. See the Tip on Cash Redemptions above.
Remember that if you use your Gift Card to make a purchase that exceeds the available balance of the Gift Card, you will be responsible for the balance due, or the transaction may be declined. If you wish to use the Gift Card to make a purchase that exceeds the available balance on the Gift Card, you must combine the use of the Gift Card with another acceptable form of payment, such as another payment card. This process is known as “split tender." Phillips 66® will facilitate these transactions.
Remember that your Gift Card may be partially redeemed by you. You are not required to fully use the Gift Card when using the card to buy goods or services.
Remember that other establishments (like hotels, gas stations and car renters) also use prepayment “holds” when gift cards are used at their establishments in conjunction with advance preauthorized payments. For example, a hotel may ask that a “hold” be placed on a gift card if the gift card is provided to the hotel in conjunction with prepayment for a hotel stay. A gas station may ask that a “hold” be placed on a gift card used to prepay at the pump for gas. A car rental company may ask that a “hold” be placed on a gift card if the gift card is provided to the company in conjunction with prepayment for a rented car. The amount of the “hold” in these circumstances may be in an amount estimated to cover the goods or service. If the available balance on a gift card is not sufficient to cover the estimated amount for the goods or service, the gift card may be declined. If the available balance is sufficient, a “hold” may be placed for several days on the available balance in the amount of the estimated cost of the goods or services. During that time period, the gift card owner will not be able to use the amount that was placed on “hold” even if the estimated amount exceeds the actual cost of the goods or service.
Remember that your Gift Card is not subject to fees that will be charged or assessed against the balance of the Gift Card.
Remember that your Gift Card is not subject to an expiration date under which you lose the right to use the Gift Card to buy goods or services.
Remember that your Gift Card is subject to a valid thru date under which you will lose the ability to use your physical card or digital code subject to the right to get a new physical card or digital code. A physical Gift Card will be deactivated if it has no activity for three hundred sixty-five (365) days after zero balance. A Fuel Forward® App or digital Gift Card will be deactivated if it has no activity for sixty (60) days after zero balance.
Remember that if you have not used your Gift Card within a time period set by state law, the unused Gift Card balance may or may not be required to escheat under various state unclaimed property statutes. These time periods set by state law usually are two-year, three-year or five-year periods for Gift Cards. If the remaining balance of your Gift Card becomes unclaimed property subject to a state's unclaimed property law, then the Card Issuer may be required to escheat the Gift Card to the state in an amount and at the time required by the state law. At that time, you may lose the ability to use your Gift Card. If this occurs, you may inquire about the status of your Gift Card by contacting us. See Contact Us. For general information about escheat and unclaimed property, visit unclaimed.org.
Remember that if you use your Gift Card to purchase goods or services, the returns or exchanges of such purchased merchandise, if any, shall be subject to and limited to the policies set by the selling merchant for returns and exchanges of its sold merchandise. Refunds regarding merchandise purchased with your Gift Card, if any, will not be placed back on your Gift Card.
Remember that the Personally Identifiable Information, if any, collected or received regarding your Gift Card and your Gift Card Program will be subject to a privacy policy. See the CIMI Privacy Policy and Notice.
